Bharatpur, Chitwan – 24 July 2026

On 24 July 2026, Muscular Dystrophy Foundation-Nepal (MDF-Nepal) and Hope for Gus Foundation, USA, as the principal organizers, in collaboration with the College of Medical Sciences (COMS), Bharatpur-Chitwan, successfully conducted a comprehensive multidisciplinary health camp dedicated to individuals living with Muscular Dystrophies in Nepal.

This initiative was specifically designed to provide comprehensive diagnostic services, specialist consultations, and supportive care, while fostering hope and solidarity among patients and their families.

Camp Highlights & Diagnostic Support

A total of 40 patients underwent diagnostic and investigative tests including:

  • X-ray Imaging
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG)
  • Manual Muscle Testing (MMT / Muscle Charting)
  • Clinically indicated laboratory investigations

Specialist consultations were provided by faculty and physicians from Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Community Medicine, Physiotherapy, and Nursing departments. All services were generously offered free of cost by COMS, Bharatpur, Chitwan.

The presence of Ms. Tonya Dreher from Hope for Gus Foundation, USA, along with recreational materials and wheelchair matrix for MD children, brought immense joy and hope to patients and their families, reinforcing the Foundation’s core message of solidarity.

Institutional & Community Support

Institutional and community support from Jaiyshree Foods Pvt. Ltd., COMS, Hope for Gus Foundation, Marwari Sewa Kendra, and MD parents ensured transportation, meals, accommodation, refreshments, and volunteering, making the camp a resounding success in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and solidarity.
